Killie bring in keeper Bachmann
BY GRAEME YOUNG KILMARNOCK have announced the signing of Daniel Bachmann on a one-year loan deal.
The Austrian keeper left Stoke for Watford last summer but has been given the chance to earn regular minutes at Rugby Park this season.
Bachmann is Steve Clarke’s fourth signing of the summer after the recent arrivals of Mikael Ndjoli, Stuart Findlay and Ross Millen.
The keeper said: “It’s time to get playing now and I’m sure I can settle quite quick. I’m commanding, I’m very loud and I want to do my best.
“I just need to get used to the Scottish accent. I’ve really enjoyed the first couple of training sessions.” BRENDAN RODGERS’S warning shot to the Celtic board over summer signings was welcomed by the Hoops faithful.
And some supporters fear the Irishman may be ready to walk if the board don’t start digging deep to fund the manager’s European ambitions.
Michael Sheerin, Liverpool, said: “Rodgers is right to call out the Celtic board on this.
“Celtic need edJohn McGinn. They also need a central defender and I’d go for Craig Dawson from West Brom or bring back Jason Denayer. I know these players cost money but surely we can afford it?”
James McLaughlin, Hamilton, said: “Celtic have lost face over McGinn by losing the player to Aston Villa.
“He would have been a huge asset and his heart lies at Celtic.
