Rape victim gets blame after ex batters her then commits suicide
A YOUNG mum has told how she tried to save her evil ex’s life after he raped and battered her.
Nikolas Pirrie decided to commit suicide after almost killing Jade Rosbotham during a three-hour ordeal.
Jade rang 999 to raise the alarm and tried to resuscitate Pirrie.
He could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Yesterday, Jade, 20, told how she has been vilified by Pirrie’s friends since he took his life.
‘Animal’ killed himself after carrying out three-hour attack
A MUM who was raped and almost battered to death by her ex-partner has been subjected to vile abuse following his suicide.
Nikolas Pirrie put Jade Rosbotham through a vicious three-hour ordeal.
He raped her in front of their young son, repeatedly kicked her and tried to choke her.
Pirrie then left a sobbing Jade in a heap on her bed, went downstairs and killed himself.
When she found him about 10 minutes later, the young mum called the emergency services and desperately tried, in vain, to resuscitate him.
Yesterday, Jade, 20, who needed hospital treatment for her injuries, told how she has been vilified since.
She said: “Folk have been saying it was me that killed him, that I hurt myself to get the bruises and that I’ve bribed my neighbours.
“It’s just nonsense. They’re making him out to be this great guy but he’s not.
“He was an animal – he was far from perfect.”
Police sources have told the Record that if Pirrie had survived, he would have been charged with attempted murder and rape.
Pirrie, 28, twice left Jade unconscious during his sustained attack at her home in Irvine last week.
It happened less than three weeks after he had been released from jail early for battering Jade with a pole when she was pregnant.
She said: “Our couch was under the stairs and he got up, grabbed the bannister and used it as leverage to jump up and down on me full force.
“He was trying to gouge my eyes out with his thumbs and was punching and kicking me full force, telling me I was ‘going to die tonight’.
“I believed him, I had never seen him like that before.
“He started pressing in at my throat and I lost consciousness.
“Then the wee man started screaming and he let go so I could calm him down and put him to sleep.”
Jade managed to scramble upstairs and lock herself in the bathroom. But Pirrie kicked the door in and started beating her again, bursting her eye in the process.
She said he then ordered her to “get down the stairs and take what I deserved”. Jade told our
sister paper the Kilmarnock Standard: “When we got down, he offered me a fag and just sat there as if everything was normal.
“I was so scared to do or say anything to set him off – then he just lost it again and that’s when I passed out.
“I woke up and he wasn’t there. I was struggling for breath and coughing. He must have heard me because he came barging back in and told me if I didn’t stop screaming, things would get a lot worse. I thought, ‘How can they?’ “He dragged me upstairs and beat me and raped me in front of our son. The rape felt like it went on forever. The whole thing must have gone on for about three hours.” Cowardly Pirrie, of Crosshouse, near Kilmarnock, left Jade in a heap and went downstairs to take his own life. She said she “couldn’t do anything” to save him. Jade added: “I spoke with the emergency services on the phone and they told me what to do but it was too late.
“Five minutes later, the police were at my door.”
Jade was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
The mum, who has waived her right to anonymity, spoke out after the Record revealed Pirrie’s rape attack and suicide in Saturday’s paper.
Police said there are no suspicious circumstances over Pirrie’s death. They are continuing to investigate the sex assault on Jade but are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.
Jade and Pirrie got together in August 2016 after they were introduced by friends.
The thug – who was found guilty of sending abusive text messages to an ex in 2017 – was 26 and Jade just 18.
It wasn’t long until she saw his true colours and in February 2017, Jade got her first beating.
In May last year, she called police after he battered her with a dumbbell pole.
In March, Pirrie pled guilty to the attack and was jailed for nine months. He got out of prison on July 20.
