Wilder has only beat no-hopers says Fury

-

BY DAVID ANDERSON TYSON FURY has landed the first blow on Deontay Wilder by claiming the WBC heavyweight champ has beaten nobody big.

The former unified champ is in advanced talks to face Wilder in November in Las Vegas and the American will be ringside at Belfast’s Windsor Park on Saturday for the Gypsy King’s second comeback fight with Francesco Pianeta.

Fury dismissed Wilder’s perfect 40- 0 record, claiming he has not beaten any big names.

The Englishman, who sti l l holds the Ring magazine lineal title, also goaded him by insisting he is flying over to the UK because he knows Fury is the bigger draw.

At yesterday’s final press conference with Pianeta, Fury said: “I’m not going to America to see him. He knows where the draw is.

“If I come through this then Wilder has the chance to fight me for the lineal championship. Let’s face it, he’s not really fought anybody.”

Fury, 30, was in typical bullish form yesterday and says beating Wilder will be his first step towards reconquering the division.

The Traveller will then want Anthony Joshua in 2019 and reckons he can unify all four major titles.

Fury said: “It’s not going to be that hard to get all my belts back. All I’ve got to do is beat Joshua and Wilder. I’m not focusing on anyone besides Pianeta though.”
