LENNY: MARK DEAL WAS SNEEZY CHOICE
NEIL LENNON insisted Mark Milligan’s arrival at Hibs will be a fairytale signing after watching his seven dwarves defeat Ross County.
The Easter Road men’s 3-2 victory set up a Betfred Cup quarter-final clash against Aberdeen next month.
Hibs boss Lennon has secured the services of Australian star Milligan on a two-year-deal and he admitted a physical presence is welcome on the back of the win over County.
David Gray, Stevie Mallan and a last-gasp stunner from Daryl Horgan turned the tie around after the Highlanders twice lead through Michael Gardyne and Josh Mullin.
But Lennon can’t wait for Milligan to get on board and add some height to his Hibees side.
He said: ‘I’m delighted to get Mark. We need physicality. Today we looked like the seven dwarves at times.
“Mark will bring that. He is athletic. He is 33 now but it means he is experienced. He had a good World Cup and I like his composure.”
Hibs made hard work of bouncing back from their midweek Europa Cup exit but Lennon was pleased to line up a clash with Aberdeen.
He said: “It’s a tough draw but it is at home so I am delighted with that.
“It now starts to get more exciting because we are in the quarter-finals. I have not seen the rest of the draw yet but that’s a tough one.”
