STUNNER AS LIVI AXE BOSS KENNY
KENNY MILLER was last night axed as Livingston player-boss after just seven weeks in charge.
Record Sport understands BY GORDON PARKS the 38-year-old was told by Lions chiefs that a two-month probationary period had led to
doubts he could continue in the dual-role.
Livi contacted Miller’s agent Dave Baldwin yesterday afternoon to discuss an amicable parting of the ways and a joint statement was set to be released this morning.
But the stunning news that Livi are now searching for a manager was leaked last night after Miller held discussions with the Lions board and was told a new direction was required only weeks into a new campaign.
Miller’s player-manager position has been the subject of unrest.
It’s also understood the former Scotland star has considered his own future in recent weeks despite winning three of their first four games of the season in the Betfred Cup.
But after only two leagues games, a loss of Celtic and a draw with Kilmarnock, a decision has been taken that will allow the club to avoid paying Miller a compensation package which wouldn’t have been the case had he stayed in his role beyond August 31.
Former Norwich No.2 Gary Holt and ex-Queen of the South boss Gavin Skelton are possible replacements.
