Friends promise to Blow away brides by making them glow

-

PLANNING their hair and make-up for the big day can be as daunting for many brides as walking down the aisle and saying their vows.

Most brides want to look their absolute best but still look like themselves – and a new service promises to deliver just this.

Blow Bridal, a wedding hair and make-up one-stop shop, launched in Glasgow this month.

It’s a collaboration between two childhood friends, who are the founders of BLOW Colour Bar and Violet Rose Makeup Artistry respectively.

Fallon Carberry owns the BLOW chain, who have hair salons in the city’s Finnieston and Shawlands, with a third set to open in the heart of the city centre later this year.

Jen Beattie, founder of Violet Rose, is a senior corporate lawyer with a passion for making brides and clients look and feel like the best versions of themselves.

She set up her business in 2017 and has quickly become one of the industry’s most respected MUA brands.

Jen said: “When I launched Violet Rose in 2017, the marketplace was still relatively ‘cornered’ by heavy contouring and essentially face-altering make-up.

“What I wanted to do was to make clients feel and look like themselves – just the best version of that self. Something we have heard frequently is that brides are often a bit taken aback after their wedding trials, after being painted with a really heavy make-up look that inevitably ensures they don’t feel particularly comfortable on their special day.

“I try to enhance the beauty that is already there and help individuals really glow – this, to me, is real beauty.”

Clients using Blow Bridal are promised a unique experience.

They will complete a questionnaire prior to their initial consultation that will then allow the team to create a bespoke digital presentation of wedding hair and make-up ideas based on the information they share.

Fallon said: “Glasgow is an incredibly creative and cool city. “We have seen in BLOW over the years the desire and need for something different, something that breaks the mould and challenges the everyday.

“It’s the same with traditional wedding hair and make-up.

“We want our brides to feel and look fabulous by helping them create the vision that’s in their head but that still allows them to feel unique and individual.”

The Blow Bridal Studio is at 243 Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands, and is open now for bookings.
