Messi & Luis are two good

-

EURO ROUND-UP LIONEL MESSI and Luis Suarez struck deadly doubles to fire Barcelona top of La Liga after routing Huesca 8-2.

Despite the lop-sided scoreline, both Huesca’s goals rankled with Barca boss Ernesto Valverde.

He said: “I’m happy because we created many chances but I’m not satisfied with the two goals conceded. We have to limit the chances near our area.”

Watford loanee Cucho Hernandez hit the thirdminute opener as Huesca got off to a dream start at the Nou Camp.

Messi, Jorge Pulido’s own goal and Suarez put Barca 3-1 up with his first goal awarded after VAR showed Jordi Alba was onside when he crossed.

Although the away side hit back again through Alex Gallar before the break, Barca ran amok in the second half.

Quickfire goals from Ousmane Dembele and Ivan Rakitic put the Catalans firmly in control.

Messi notched his second, Alba added a seventh and Suarez completed the scoring from the spot late on.

In Ligue 1, supersubs Florian Thauvin and Valere Germain netted as Marseille came from behind to grab a 3-2 win at Monaco.

In Italy, Napoli missed the chance to go level with leaders Juventus after tumbling to a 3-0 defeat at Sampdoria.

Juve moved three points clear after beating Parma but Napoli were undone by Gregoire Defrel’s first-half double and a second-half strike by Fabio Quagliarella.

In the Bundesliga, Celtic’s Europa League group rivals Leipzig picked up their first point of the season after drawing 1-1 with Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Matthias Zimmermann gave Fortuna the lead before Jean-Kevin Augustin equalised.
