BY ANTHONY HAGGERTY GABBY AGBONLAHOR last night issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Celtic.

The former Aston Villa and England star is a free agent and insists he’d jump at the chance if the Hoops came calling.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is still on the lookout for a third striker as cover for Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths, having sold Moussa Dembele to French outfit Lyon for £20million on transfer deadline day.

“I’ll discuss things with my agent and we’ll decide what happens next. Every player if they had the chance to play for Celtic would take it.

“You would have to speak to Celtic and see if they are interested. If the opportunity comes for me to play in Scotland and the move is right for me and my family then I would certainly look at it.

“It is a tough league. If you look at the teams there is Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts who all have some great players in their sides.

“I’m raring to go. I feel fit and I have been keeping myself ticking over.”

With Steven Gerrard taking over as the new Rangers manager in the summer, Agbonlahor has watched interest in Scottish football soar.
