Hardline Woods boosts festive kitty

-

BY EUAN McLEAN says the laughter isn’t far away when keeper Woods calls in the debts as the self-appointed bailiff of the festive fund.

Bingham said: “Gary is the fine master. “He wants to make sure we have a good kitty for the Christmas night out because he has been strict this year.

“Any little thing, he’s on to the boys. There are basic fines – being late, having your phone out and not wearing flip-flops in the changing room.

“Nobody gets fined for bad gear or anything. You just get banter for that. When you get fined you have until a certain date to pay, normally the end of the week. If you don’t pay it’s double.

“If you appeal and take it to Kangaroo Court it could be doubled too. There are a few coaches involved then. It’s strict and I wouldn’t go down that route.”

Clearly spirits are high in the Hamilton camp as they prepare for a trip to Livingston today for the first meeting of the sides in the top flight.

He said: “It will be a difficult game against Livi. They are a decent team and are playing well. They are new to the league which can work in your favour.

“But our confidence is high too. This is the biggest squad we have had since I have been at Hamilton. That competition for places is positive.

“We are getting used to each other as players and that’s been a benefit that will hopefully show in the games ahead.”
