THE daughter of one of Scotland’s most notorious sex offenders has warned that he should never be freed from jail.
The woman, who has revealed she was abused as a child by her father, insists he will always be a danger to girls and women.
She said: “He will never stop. If he’s allowed to leave prison, he will do it again. That’s an absolute certainty.”
Predator John Bermingham, BY JOHN DINGWALL 53, who is banned from having any contact with females, was jailed earlier this month for speaking to a woman walking her dog.
He was carrying disguises to elude police surveillance teams.
His 34-year old daughter Louise, not her real name, said: “He gets a thrill from attacking people. He did it to strangers but he did it to his own children too. Whenever I hear about him attacking someone else, I think nothing is going to stop him. If he can abuse his own children, he’ll do it to anyone.
“He should be in solitary confinement.
“When he’s in prison, he’s locked away with the other sex offenders.
“It’s disgusting and is making them more dangerous when they’re released.”
Serial offender Bermingham was previously jailed for 12 years in 2002 after trying to rape an 11-year old and an 18-year old within an hour of each in November 2000.
After his release, he was charged but cleared by a jury of trying to abduct two little girls. He had been accused of offering them money to help him find his lost jacket.
When he was arrested, he was found to be carrying condoms, sweets and sleeping pills.
