Den skips wider social circle

CHAMPIONSHIP ALLOA ATH v FALKIRK DUNFERMLINE...1 PARTICK TH...0 TEAMSHEET

-

DENNON LEWIS admits he’s steering clear of social media for a solution to Falkirk’s woeful start.

The Bairns have come in for criticism after six straight league defeats.

Second-bottom Alloa await and Lewis insists he knows what’s needed to turn things around. He said: “We know it’s got to be better and want to do it for the fans and whole club. It’s hard because I’m here on my own.

“My family is down south and some live in Turkey. You take what you can from games – positive or negative – but I don’t want to go on social media and see comments because it can put negative things into your head.”

Alloa are without a win and No.2 Paddy Connolly said: “We don’t want to be known as draw specialists.” PARTICK once again failed to find a cure for their travel sickness as an Aidan Connolly strike helped Dunfermline to victory.

The Pars winger made the most of an Christie Elliott blunder to lash home the only goal of a forgettable contest.

The Fifers could have made the win more comprehensive but Connolly somehow contrived to strike the post from point-blank range at the death.

Alan Archibald’s side have now lost all four of their away matches in the league this term while claiming victory in every contest at Firhill.

And the Jags gaffer reckons individual howlers such as Elliott’s have been holding them back on the road.

He said: “We haven’t been cut open away from home – it has been individual errors and it cost us again. Up until the goal, there was not much in it.”

The Jags were presented with a glorious chance when a sloppy pass from Lee Ashcroft sent Blair Spittal through on goal, only for the midfielder to skew wide.

Pars won it when Elliot clumsily knocked James Craigen’s delivery into the path of Connolly who fired home.

The Dunfermline ace then passed up an opportunity to put the game to bed when he latched on to a low cross from Louis Longridge and somehow contrived to hit the post.

They almost paid the price in stoppage time but Lee Robinson produced a fine save to deny Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo before the Thistle sub saw another effort scrambled off the line.

Pars boss Allan Johnston said: “This result has been coming. We should’ve won last weekend.”

IAN ORR AT EAST END PARK

KEEPER David Mitchell and defender Jordan McGhee are back for Falkirk when they go to Alloa.

Fraser Fyvie is back for Dundee United against Ross County. Inverness are without summer signing Angus Beith against QoS.

Morton host leaders Ayr with Jack Iredale a major doubt due to a hand injury.
