Strictly snogging scandal Seann gets dumped by girlfriend
STRICTLY Come Dancing celebrity Seann Walsh was last night dumped by his girlfriend after snogging his pro dance partner Katya Jones.
Actress Rebecca Humphries revealed she had suspected something was going on with Seann and married Katya.
But comic Seann, 32, had branded her “nuts” when she voiced her concerns.
Turning the tables on her boyfriend, caught kissing Katya on Rebecca’s birthday last Wednesday, she chucked him in a scathing post on Twitter.
And in a final blow to Walsh, Rebecca said she was keeping their cat, Winston.
Rebecca revealed that despite the pair’s tweeted apology to the world, Walsh has not grovelled in person to her.
In a blistering statement posted on Twitter just after 8.15pm last night, she declared: “My name is Rebecca Humphries and I am not a victim.
“It’s incredibly good of Sean(n) to apologise in the media. I have received nothing other than the support of my family, friends, and a host of strangers on the internet.
“Those pictures were taken on October 3, it was my birthday. I was alone at home when Seann texted at 10pm saying the two of them were going for one innocent drink. We spoke, and I told him – not for the first time – that his actions over the past three weeks had led me to believe something inappropriate was going on. “He aggressively and repeatedly called me a psycho/nuts/mental. As he has done countless times throughout our relationship when I’ve questioned his inappropriate/hurtful behaviour. “I have a voice and will use it by saying this to any woman who feels worthless and trapped with a man they love: Believe in yourself and your
instincts. Tell some very close friends who, if they’re anything like my wonderful network, will swoop in and take care of the logistics and of you.” As a parting shot, Rebecca said: “It’s important also to recognise that in these situations those who hold power over you are insecure and fragile and the need for control comes from a place of vulnerability. “I think it certainly does in Sean’s case. I hope he gets what he wants from this,” Comedian Walsh and Russian Jones were filmed enjoying a lingering kiss in the street on Wednesday night, after drinking for hours in a London pub. Meanwhile there was an outpouring of support Rebecca on social media, with many saying they would never vote for Seann, who excelled in his paso doble on Saturday One tweet likened him to a “sewer rat”, which got Rebecca’s approval. Yesterday bookies had Walsh as odds-on to leave this weekend, as viewers expressed their outrage at the way in he had behaved. One summed up the mood: “There is obviously a better, less selfish man out there for you,” one said, with another agreeing: “Kick him to the kerb, you deserve better.”
Along with the public, Rebecca was also messaged by Abby Cohen, the ex-wife of rugby ace Ben Cohen.
Abby’s marriage to her husband – the father of their twin girls – crumbled after he was partnered with Russian former Strictly pro dancer Kristina Rihanoff.
Abby posted: “Yep. Another one. Shocking but I’m not surprised.”
Earlier it was said the BBC, keen to limit the fallout, had made the pair rehearse a less sexy number for Saturday.
It is thought they were due to dance either a romantic rumba, sexy salsa or passionate Argentine tango.
One insider said: “No one wants to see them looking too sexy together, or too happy, when their partners are hurting.”
Katya, 29, who married Neil in 2013, did not escape the scathing comments.
One sarcastic fan of the show poured scorn on her apology, in which she said she loved Neil and blamed the booze for her one-off mistake.
The fan wrote: “I love my husband so much that after a few drinks I eat the face of another man. Sorry you were caught out, more like.”
Strictly bosses were said to share their fury over how the incident threatens to damage Strictly’s family-friendly image.
But last night Walsh arrived at the show’s studios in Elstree, to continue rehearsing with Katya.
One BBC source insisted it was still “business as usual” when it came to them dancing together.
The pair were due to honour their planned appearance on It Takes Two this week.
