Lord denies snooping Ibrox discs

-

BY DAVE FINLAY A FORMER Rangers administrator is suing Scotland’s law chief, claiming his staff snooped on private files.

Lawyers for David Whitehouse want to know whether Crown Office staff opened documents covered by legal privilege.

Police used a warrant in 2015 to recover computer discs from Duff & Phelps, liquidators of Rangers, the Court of Session was told.

When the discs were returned, advocate Euan Duthie claimed, they were out of their envelopes.

They contained emails between Whitehouse and fellow administrator Paul Clark, and their solicitors.

Duthie said: “The privileged materials had been accessed at least to some extent.”

Gerry Moynihan QC, for the Lord Advocate, said it was a “fishing exercise” and that any allegation was directed at the police.

Whitehouse and Clark claim they were wrongfully detained, arrested and prosecuted over the Ibrox takeover and collapse.

They are suing Lord Advocate James Wolffe QC and ex-chief constable Philip Gormley for compensation. RIVER City’s Bob gets an eyeful when Nicole Brodie waltzes back into Shieldinch next week.

The former teen tearaway returns and interrupts the troubled mechanic’s stag do with a saucy appearance.

Actress Holly Jack makes a dramatic comeback to the BBC soap after her character’s move to Aberdeen two years ago to raise daughter Grace.

She surprises Bob and pals by appearing as a stripper during his pre-wedding celebrations at the Candle Rooms – much to the horror of her onlooking uncle Gabriel.

She sparks chaos at the club with incidents involving a briefcase full of cash and a hangover to remember. A BBC BY BRIAN McIVER insider revealed: “Shieldinch beware – Nicole Brodie’s back with a bang.

“Where Nicole goes, trouble follows and she’s going to give her Uncle Gabriel plenty to worry about.

“Worse still, she’ll set her sights on duping Bob out of his inheritance, casting a shadow over his forthcoming wedding to Kim.

“Will Bob fall for her honeytrap or resist the temptation?”

They added: “If fans think she was bad the first time around, she’s a real handful this time.”

Nicole makes her comeback next Tuesday on BBC1 Scotland at 8pm.
