Killie winger Jones faces two-match diving ban

-

BY MICHAEL GANNON JORDAN JONES was last night slapped with a two-match ban for taking a tumble in Kilmarnock’s win against Dundee.

The Rugby Park ace has been hit with a diving charge by the SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte and Record Sport understands the club are considering an appeal.

Killie have until end of play today to act as the Northern Ireland winger faces missing Premiership clashes against St Mirren and Hamilton.

The club will study the footage today before deciding whether to fight the suspension.

Dundee were left furious after Jones hit the deck in the box with Dens players claiming the winger had conned ref Steven McLean.

Raging manager Neil McCann called the decision “a disgrace” and claimed the wide man had admitted to taking a dive to his players despite no contact being made.

The case puts Killie boss Steve Clarke back on a collision course with the SFA less than a month after he branded the beaks “amateurish” in the wake of a disciplinary charge for criticising officials.

The Rugby Park gaffer fumed over Gary Dicker’s red card against Hearts earlier this season and hit out at the authorities after his name was misspelled on the charge sheet. RESULTS & FIXTURES
