Robyn was so caring and I’ll never forget her

-

THE mother of a 13-year-old girl found dead at her home was arrested following the tragedy, the Record can reveal.

Sharron Goldie appeared in court on a charge relating to her daughter Robyn.

The schoolgirl was found dead at a house in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, in July.

Her death certificate revealed she died of a stomach infection, with investigations ongoing into a burst ulcer on her intestine.

Sharron, 43, appeared at a private hearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Robyn’s death certificate, signed by her grandmother, was registered on September 26 – the day her mum was up in court.

The Crown Office confirmed Sharron had appeared from custody before a sheriff.

A spokesman said: “The case was continued for further examination and she was released on bail.”

Police were called to Lomond Drive, Wishaw, at 7.20pm on July 26, following a 999 call and Robyn was pronounced dead.

Officers said at the time that her death was being treated as “unexplained” and confirmed a week later that a report had been sent to the procurator fiscal following a post mortem.

The main cause of death was listed as BY SALLY HIND s.hind@dailyrecord.co.uk peritonitis, with “pending investigations” into a perforated duodenal ulcer – an ulcer of the small intestine.

Floral tributes and a teddy bear were left at the property, while Robyn’s shocked pals paid tribute to the “caring” Clyde Valley High School pupil and arranged a vigil.

One note read: “Can’t believe this has happened.” Another said: “RIP beautiful.”

One touching message on Facebook gave an insight into the youngster’s kind nature. It said: “The first day I met Robyn was her first day of school. She came in, looked at me and had a big cheesy smile on her face. The first thing she did was compliment me.

“We sat together and just talked for about an hour until she had to go to class.

“She was very nervous. I wished her well and made sure she was OK. She was so caring and I’ll never forget her.”

One pal wrote: “Absolutely shocked that another young life has been taken. RIP Robyn, thoughts go out to the friends and families.”

Another added: “Robyn didn’t deserve this. Fly high angel.”

Eight days after the teenager’s death, pals let off pink and purple balloons in her memory.
