Seann Walsh pledges to ‘give it everything’ with huge audience set to tune in to watch his dance of shame with Katya Jones

BY MARK JEFFERIES WITH more than 12 million viewers expected to watch Strictly tonight, Seann Walsh will be under pressure to deliver a top performance after his kissing shame. And the comedian is hoping fans forgive him over being caught in a boozy clinch with professional partner Katya Jones, despite now being the bookies’ favourite to be axed this weekend. The 32-year-old, dumped by girlfriend Rebecca Humphries, is to perform the Charleston as his “dance of shame” in the first show since the scandal outside a London pub. A source said: “He knows what he did was wrong but he feels he has done everything he can after kissing Katya and is desperate to get the chance to move on with Strictly and with his life. “He is training hard and is going to give everything he can in the performance. “It is going to be emotion-packed as he and Katya know millions are watching their every move.” Ladbrokes have Walsh and Jones, 29, 5-4 to be kicked off on Sunday with bets on them leaving piling in. But the pair were yesterday at Elstree Studios for the first full rehearsal of the show. The source added: “Cast and crew were offering support. Whatever they think of the kiss they know it must have been a horrid week for them.” Judge Craig Revel-Horwood said the best thing for Walsh and Jones was to look forward. He added: “My take was keep them in, make them do the dance of shame. “It’s important you face up to it. Get on with the job and show people what you’re made of.” Walsh was caught kissing Jones, married to dancer Neil, on October 3 – Rebecca’s birthday. He has apologised.
