Jord: We can put on a show after box-office flop

-

JORDAN ROSSITER insists Rangers’ squad heeded Steven Gerrard’s message and are ready to put on an Ibrox show.

The midfielder admits huge disappointment shrouded the dressing room after losing Sunday’s Betfred Cup semi.

But the Scouser says it has been overtaken by a will to atone against Kilmarnock tonight – for the punters who suffered at Hampden.

He said: “We know we need to put on a show, put on a performance and get the three points. In the dressing room after the game everyone was massively disappointed. We knew it was a big chance.

“But there is still a lot to play for this season and I’m sure we will be challenging on all fronts come the end of the season.

“As the gaffer said, the fans were out in numbers. They always are and that will never change at this club.

“It is brilliant to see. We need to put things right as well for them and I’m sure the lads will.”

Rossiter is itching for more opportunities having played just twice this term amid injury. And he said: “Everyone has been superb and it’s time for me to start paying everybody back.

“I know I still have a long way to go in terms of getting back to a peak. I haven’t played much football in two years. You can train all you want but it is the game time that matters.”
