“I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war.”

He also insisted he had “nothing to do with” Blexit, adding: “I would like to thank my family, loved ones and community for supporting my ACTUAL beliefs and my vision for a better world.

“My eyes are now wide open and now realise I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in.

“I am distancing myself from politics and focusing on being creative.”

It’s a far cry from the outrage he sparked in May by saying: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years, that sounds like a choice.” Let’s hope the scales have finally fallen from his eyes. A copy of Lady Chatterley’s Lover used by judge Lawrence Byrne, who presided over its obscenity trial in 1960, has sold at auction for £56,250.
