A HEART OF GOLD

Family tell of heartache over death

- BY SALLY HIND s.hind@dailyrecord.co.uk

A WOMAN who was killed by her boyfriend before he took his own life had a “heart of gold”, her devastated family said yesterday.

Lynn Forde, 35, was found dead in the flat she shared with partner Phil Osborne, 36, in Coatbridge on Sunday.

Osborne’s body was discovered the next day 30 miles away in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, after he called police to confess to murdering his girlfriend.

In a touching tribute, her family said: “Lynn was a beautiful daughter, sister and aunt with a heart of gold who always put everyone first.

“Lynn was totally devoted to her family and had a huge circle of friends who thought the world of her. We are heartbroken that she has been taken so soon and thank everyone for their kind messages of support.”

Detectives found Lynn’s body in Greenside Street on Sunday afternoon.

We told yesterday how Osborne called police after killing his long-term partner, sparking a major search for him.

His body was found at an address in his home town just before 3pm on Monday. Police said the death was being treated as “unexplained”. But a statement added: “Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death of the 35-year-old woman.”

A full report on the deaths will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

News of the murdersuicide rocked the Coatbridge community.

It’s thought the couple had been at a Halloween bash the night before Lynn was found dead.

A neighbour of Osborne’s family in Tillicoultry said he had worked as a plumber but the company he worked for recently went bust.

Lynn is survived by parents Margaret and John and sister Claire.

Scores of tributes have been posted to the former St Patrick’s High pupil online.
