Parents‘ fury over man who posed as pupil
A PARENT at a school where an adult asylum seeker passed himself of a child yesterday demanded action against staff and officials over the blunder.
A Home Office probe found the Middle Eastern man was almost certainly more than 18 when he mingled with other pupils as young as 11.
He spent six weeks at Stoke High School in Ipswich but was suspended as an investigation began and pupils and parents threatened a boycott.
One mum of a child at the school said: “It was obvious he was a man, not a child. How did the Home Office or the teachers not see what was blindingly obvious to everyone else?’
“Heads need to roll and parents won’t rest until we get a full explanation of what went wrong.”
Suspicious pupils took Snapchat pictures of their 6ft 1ins colleague and posted: “How’s there a 30-year-old man in our maths class?”
The man is now being treated as an adult asylum seeker and could be deported if his claim is refused.
