I’m ready to deliver a shock

-

BY SCOTT BURNS NATHAN RALPH has resorted to shockwave therapy in a bid to jump his and struggling Dundee’s season into life.

The left-back has had regular electric shocks to the muscles to get him over an ongoing hamstring problem.

Fit-again Ralph now wants to stun Hibs by helping bottom side Dundee to their second league win of the season.

And he said: “I have been getting shockwave therapy on my hamstring and it has been working.

“It’s for tendon injuries and speeds up your recovery. Although it sounds quite bad, it’s not painful and I believe it has definitely helped.

“It’s a course of five or six sessions, I have one more left next week and hopefully that will be it.

“It was a frustrating time being out injured, especially with the results going the way they were.

“You want to be out there helping the lads instead of sitting in the stand. But I’m back now and feel ready to kick on.”

Dundee are still chasing their first victory under boss Jim McIntyre but they did manage to get their first point and goal in their draw against fellow strugglers St Mirren before the international break.

The Dark Blues are heading into a busy December and Ralph knows a good run could turn their season around.

He said: “We felt we should have got the win against St Mirren so it would have been good to get another game. But we have had a good two weeks of training and everyone is raring to go.

“There are a lot of tough games but the way we are looking at it is there’s a real chance to put a run together.

“Hopefully by the time we come through all these games the table will look a lot better.

“We know Hibs are a good team but we have to focus on ourselves and doing our jobs properly.”
