DEREK McINNES admits crocked Aberdeen stopper Mikey Devlin needs a miracle to make this season’s first final.

The defender suffered a foot injury training with Scotland, forcing him out of the double header with Albania and Israel.

Devlin will miss today’s clash at Motherwell with the Dons’ Betfred Cup showdown against Celtic just eight days away.

McInnes said: “The nature of the injury is the tendon on the bone of the foot. The response is all important at the minute.

“It is the type of injury that can respond pretty well and pretty quickly to treatment.

“He can do pool work, weights and bike work to stimulate the injury as well as munching antiinflam­matories and painkiller­s. He has a chance but it is a long shot.”

While Devlin watches on today Dons teammate Lewis Ferguson knows what it’ll take to bag a fifth straight win having been given a baptism of fire at Fir Park.
