BY MARIA CROCE maria.croce@reachplc.com WE ALL know the old saying, “You are what you eat” but does a fridge say anything about the country you live in?

Admiral Home Insurance asked people around the world to take photos of their fridges to reveal what they eat and how much they spend.

The series, It’s a Cool World, also found out what foods were essentials and what were treats.

Nicholas, from Kenya, thinks of seasonal fruit and vegetables as a staple, while others consider fresh fruit a luxury.

Contributors were asked about their household income and how much they spend on groceries. An 81-year-old, from Venezuela, reported a monthly food budget of just £13, while a family of three in Russia spend nearly £500.
