GORD’S LADY KILLER

-

MRS LOVETT (1.25) can give Gordon Elliot another big UK winner in the Lady Godiva Mares’ Novices’ Chase at Warwick.

The five-year-old has taken well to fences, winning her novice at Thurles and slamming the useful Timeforwest in a hot Fairyhouse handicap.

That is unlikely to be the limit of her ability and she can take promotion to Listed level in her stride for the Meath Maestro.

BARBROOK STAR (1.55) BY GARRY OWEN can stay on the upgrade over fences for Phillip Hobbs. The six-year-old was an eye-catching third to Glen Forsa in a warm Chepstow novice on his chasing bow and can open his account.

David Pipe is hitting form and IRISH PRINCE (2.30) can shade a trappy handicap hurdle.

The gelding clearly benefited from wind surgery when a good second at Worcester in July.

Richard Bandey’s HARD STATION (3.05) looks solid in the BHSF Handicap Chase. The ex-hunter showed his rivals no mercy from the front on his handicap bow and trailblazing style is tailor-made for venue.

Iain Jardine is enjoying a decent season and can strike at Newcastle with COOL MIX (1.45). The grey put in another good shift over fences when chasing home Taysar at Kelso and can go one better on the likely softer ground.

The 188Bet Handicap Chase is tight but I’m happy to side with BLAKERIGG (2.55).

Nicky Richards’s gelding bolted up over 2m 4f at Ayr and can improve again over three miles if wind surgery continues to work its magic.

MEAD VALE (1.35) can swoop for Nigel Hawke at Taunton. The hurdler scored with plenty in hand over course and distance last time and can follow up under useful 10lb claimer Tom Buckley.

Jeremy Scott is flying and can add to his recent tally with BANG ON (2.45).

The five-year-old stayed on nicely to beat the talented Southfield Torr over two miles here and will relish this extra three furlongs.

LILLINGTON (3.15) has improved rapidly and can claim the Elizabeth Chatfield Handicap Chase for Colin Tizzard.

■Legendary jockey Lester Piggott is recovering well after having a pacemaker fitted at a Cambridge hospital this week.
