Flight held up as ‘unruly’ yobs are kicked off

DRUNK Rangers fans were herded off a plane at Glasgow Airport yesterday.

Eight supporters were removed from the flight to Munich before take-off.

As a result, the flight was delayed for three hours and innocent fans heading to Vienna, via Munich, for tonight’s match with Rapid missed their connections.

Some had to find overnight accommodation in the German city. And they risked missing the Europa League match because of connecting flight times.

One fan, @stuartangus2012, tweeted: “To all the bampot Rangers fans on the flight from Glasgow to Munich who got us chucked off the plane and delayed two hours for abusing staff and sneaking their booze on, well f ****** done – 100 of us are now in Munich tonight, all on a 3pm flight tomorrow so will be lucky to make the game.”

Another supporter said: “There was a lot of booze taken and there was a bit of abuse given to some flight attendants. Fans were warned to pipe down but they refused to behave and the police were called.”

A third fan added: “One stupid guy mentioned the Nazi word to one of the flight staff and that was obviously not something they would tolerate.”

An airport spokesman said: “A small number of passengers were offloaded from a flight to Munich due to an incident.”

A Lufthansa spokesperson said: “Eight unruly passengers had to leave the aircraft before take-off. The flight to Munich was continued with a delay of three hours.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.”
