ALL CHANGED NOWBUTDON’T RULE US ROUT

-

LEWIS KIDD insists Falkirk can stun Dundee United again – but accepts there is little chance of a repeat of their shock six-goal salvo of almost 12 months ago.

Falkirk were struggling under Paul Hartley when they hammered United 6-1 before going on a run that removed the relegation threat and gave them an outside chance of a play-off spot.

This season the Bairns are again languishing at the wrong end of the table as they prepare to face a United team once more eyeing the title.

But with Ray McKinnon having taken over at Falkirk and Csaba Laszlo replaced by Robbie Neilson, plus changes galore on the pitch, Kidd is expecting a much tighter affair.

The ex-Celtic youngster, who scored the sixth in January, said: “Beating United 6-1 was brilliant. I don’t think anyone expected that but it was a good day for the fans and for everyone.

“You don’t get results like that a lot but you enjoy them when they happen. There’s a difference about both teams now. In the last few results we’ve shown what we can do so we just need to go there with confidence and see what happens.”

Last weekend’s goalless draw with Morton was a fifth consecutive game undefeated for Falkirk and Kidd added: “We’re now looking to go into games to get three points. There’s no reason we can’t do that again.”

Benjamin Siegrist insists there’s no panic at Tannadice as they bid to end a three-game winless run.

The United keeper said: “I wouldn’t say the last few weeks have been a reality check. Results haven’t been great recently but we’ve just got to continue what we do during the week and turn things round.

“But we know we’re not going to win every game and neither are those teams above us. We just have to make sure we close the gap when they slip up in the future.”
