Carpenter calls on Rocks to build on their form for play-offs

-

KENNY CARPENTER insists Glasgow Rocks are ready for a tough stretch of games that could make or break their play-off hopes.

Sheffield Sharks, who sit second in the BBL, visit the Emirates Arena tonight as the Scots bid to climb out of the bottom three.

And although Darryl Wood’s men are unbeaten in knockout competitions, playmaker Carpenter claims the time has come to rack up league points.

He said: “Now we’re picking up wins, it feels like momentum is building. I know the ones in the Cup and Trophy don’t count in the league but they’ve got us on the right path.

“We know we have a tough stretch coming up now and we can’t make the same mistakes.” CRICKET: Duanne Olivier led the way as South Africa routed Pakistan to home in on victory in the first Test.

The Proteas paceman backed up a career-best of six for 37 with another five wickets, finishing with five for 59 as the tourists were skittled for just 190 in their second innings at Centurion.

South Africa will launch their response this morning needing just 149 to strike the first blow in the three-Test series. ICE HOCKEY: Craig Moore came back to haunt old club Dundee Stars as he bagged the clincher for Fife Flyers in a 3-0 Elite League victory last night.

Danick Gauthier and Paul Crowder also scored to avenge Fife’s 5-4 loss on Boxing Day.

Glasgow Clan lost 4-3 against Manchester Storm, having won 5-3 in the reverse fixture on Wednesday night.
