Craig Swan

-

So far, he’s had half-a-dozen goes at Celtic and never managed to find the net.

Now it is fair to say he has been playing in Rangers teams which have been battered on occasions by Brendan Rodgers’ men and has been forced to feed on scraps.

But there have also been opportunities. And big ones.

In his first game in September 2017, which Celtic won 2-0, he had a golden headed chance which he planted straight at Craig Gordon with the opposition just 1-0 up.

On December 30 last year at Parkhead, Morelos had another two headed chances. Both were absolute snips from close range and he contrived to miss the pair as the Hoops escaped with a scoreless draw having been second best in the second half.

In March, Morelos somehow managed to hit a post from about a yard out when, if he had scored, he would’ve nabbed a 3-3 draw for his team and stopped Celtic from taking the clinching step towards their seventh-straight title.

Even in the Scottish Cup semi-final which Celtic won at a canter, Morelos managed to hit a golden Hampden chance against Gordon when the keeper was on the deck and out of the game.

Last time out, Celtic pummelled Rangers at Parkhead and should have won by a barrowload, yet the Colombian still had the chance to bag an equaliser and couldn’t beat Gordon. These have been big moments. At the same time, rivals such as Odsonne Edouard, Moussa Dembele and Callum McGregor have swaggered around taking the chances which have come their way at the other end.

He’s a huge danger to Celtic tomorrow and in great form but this will always be his acid test.
