ALF’S OPEN TO OFFERS

Morelos braced for bids

- BY ALAN MARSHALL

ALFREDO MORELOS expects Rangers to have offers to sell him next month – and insists his dream is to play in England. The Colombian striker netted his 20th goal of the season in the 1-1 draw with Hibs on Boxing Day but Rangers have made it clear they have no intention of selling the 22-year-old in the January transfer window.

A year ago Morelos suffered a dip in form when the Ibrox side

rejected big-money offers from China but he recovered to finish the season with 18 goals and the striker is expecting further interest when the window reopens.

Morelos said: “It’s very likely there are several teams looking at me and there will be offers but there is nothing concrete yet.

“I have to wait until the last game of the year is played and will try to end 2018 in a positive way.

“My dream is to play in the English Premier League. It’s very similar to the football in Scotland.”

And Morelos, in an interview in his homeland Blu Radio’s Blog Deportivo, says he’s determined to add to the one Colombia cap he earned this year.

He said: “The national team is very important to me. I know if I continue like this by scoring goals with Rangers, a new opportunity will come.”

Meanwhile, Rangers have offered contracts to Andrew Gutman and Matt Polster.

The United States duo have reportedly impressed Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard enough during their trials but neither player has made a final decision yet on the offers.
