Stu kicking himself at missing revenge mission

PARTICK TH v MORTON

-

STUART BANNIGAN will kick every ball – and himself – from the Firhill sidelines as Partick Thistle go looking for revenge on a Morton side that defeated them 5-1 earlier this season.

The suspended Jags skipper is missing out on a game he’d loved to have played in.

And Bannigan said: “I will be a frustrated supporter as we are out to make up for that performance. We let ourselves down that afternoon as we put in our worst performance of the season.

“We were miles off the pace. We actually took the lead but collapsed after that and we want to win this game to make up for it. It was a real low point but Morton will be playing a different team this time.”

Midfielder Bannigan, who recently signed a new deal that ties him to Thistle until May 2020, is also angry with himself.

He added: “I picked up some silly bookings and I’m suspended. I’ve no one else to blame but myself for missing out on a game I’d dearly like to play in.”

Meanwhile, Morton striker Bob McHugh reckons Thistle can be seen off a second time as the Greenock men are playing better away from home.

McHugh said: “I scored two in the 5-1 game. However, for some reason we’ve not kicked on at Cappielow since then. Our away form’s been better.

“We’ll look to carry that good away form on at Firhill and then replicate it at home in 2019.”
