Craigen: Don’t Fal for rivals’ poor performance

-

FALKIRK v DUNFERMLINE

JAMES CRAIGEN has warned Dunfermline they won’t get it as easy against old team Falkirk as they did earlier in the season.

The Pars strolled to a 2-0 away win in October but to triumph today they will need to rediscover their shooting boots and score for the first time in four games.

Craigen has been following his former club’s revival under Ray McKinnon – his old boss at Raith – and knows Dunfermline will need to be up for a battle.

He said: “It’s a big game. Surely they’re not going to put in another home performance like the last time we played them there?

“It’s a derby and I expect them to be right at us from

the first whistle. It will be up to us to handle that.

“They need the points and they’ll want to drag us back down towards the bottom but we want to be chasing at the other end. “They’ve steadied the ship a bit. Ray’s a good manager. This is the third time I’ll have been back to Falkirk and you know to expect a few boos when you touch the ball.

“I’ve actually had positive results there so hopefully it’s the same this weekend. We just need to keep believing we’re going to score.”

But defender Patrick Brough believes basement Bairns can earn the bragging rights going into the New Year.

He said: “I’m confident we can take something from the game. A win at home in a big game would be massive for the fans too.”
