DYING CANCER DAD’S DREAM WEDDING JOY

Scott Lewis, of Wishaw, Lanarkshire, was given the devastating news last month that treatment is not an option.
The 33-year-old, who is receiving palliative care at home, told how he was determined to stay alive long enough to marry his partner Sara, 27, and meet their new baby, which is due in May.
Now generous members of the public and businesses have ensured that Scott’s wish to tie the knot at Ibrox will come true.
He will marry Sara at the football stadium on Friday. The couple’s daughters – Ellie, seven, Amy, three, and eight- month-old Khloe – will be flower girls.
They will then enjoy a swish wedding breakfast and reception at a country house hotel in Glasgow’s southside.
Fundraiser Linda Croker, who set up an appeal for the family, said: “We have managed to secure Ibrox for the ceremony, with Rangers’ own minister, Reverend Stuart McQuarrie, as the celebrant and a champagne reception. Carnbooth House have offered a wedding breakfast and evening reception for the entire party.
“We have suppliers for flowers, photos and cars, and wedding rings from Rox jewellers in Glasgow.
“Blue Parrot Events are doing the room decorations. Sara has also been gifted a wedding dress from June’s Bridal Wear in Wishaw.”
Comedian Gary Little has offered to do a free set at the reception after reading about the couple’s plight in the Record.
He said: “If I can make the day a bit better, I’m happy to help.”
The couple, who have been together for 10 years, said they were touched and overwhelmed.
Sara added: “We just want to thank everyone for everything.”
