Cops hunt for armed thugs after attack on boy, 13,
BY MICHAEL PRINGLE A 13-YEAR-OLD schoolboy is in a stable condition in hospital after a “callous” attack by two armed men in a lane.
The youngster was seriously assaulted by the pair in King’s Park in the south side of Glasgow on Sunday night.
As a result of the attack at about 7pm, the boy suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children.
Police are checking CCTV in a bid to identify the attackers who were carrying weapons and had their faces covered during the attack.
They are also appealing for information and have issued descriptions of the two attackers.
The first is described as 5ft 10in with a heavy build. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a blue long -sleeved top.
The second suspect was wearing a dark grey tracksuit and is described as 5ft 4in and slim.
Detective Constable Kenny Noble said: “This was a callous and violent attack on a 13 year-old boy.
“Our officers will be doing all they can to trace those responsible.
“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area on Sunday night, or has any information about this incident, to come forward.”
The attack on the boy took place just yards from where a man was allegedly stabbed just days earlier.
The 21-year-old was treated in hospital after he suffered serious injuries on Boxing Day.
Police attended after reports of a disturbance outside a pub in nearby Curtis Avenue just after 1am.
A 29-year-old man was charged over the incident.
