Reality star tops body confidence list
FERNE McCann has beaten Serena Williams and Fearne Cotton to be named the fittest female celebrity.
The reality TV star took top spot in Heat magazine’s annual fit list, which also celebrates body confidence.
Ferne, who gave birth to her first child, daughter Sunday, in November 2017, put down her success to teaming up with personal trainer Ellie Hopley.
The 28-year-old said: “I’ve never felt better. People are almost quite shocked at how I look now but for me it’s been a gradual thing – something that I started before I got pregnant with Sunday.
“I’ve always been sporty but never really into fitness. I was the person who would walk out of a spin class because I’d had enough, and now I just love to train. That’s down to my PT Ellie – she really changed my body.”
TV host Davina McCall was in the top five for the third year running. Gemma Atkinson and Jennifer Lopez also made the top 10. This year’s list was compiled by a judging panel made up of former Olympic speed skater and Roar Fitness founder Sarah Lindsay, personal trainer and creator of the Viking Method Svava Sigbertsdottir and health and fitness blogger Chessie King. It is based on the stars’ workout habits, diet and the way they talk about their body to inspire others. Heat editor Julia Davis said: “The women featured are all awesome ambassadors for body positivity and combine a healthy attitude to fitness and food with an acceptance that we’re all different and amazing.”
