Hyndman’s recalled as injured Boyle blasts Sutty

-

FROM BACK PAGE the extent of the injury picked up in the 4-0 friendly win over Oman at the weekend.

And that follows the news Emerson Hyndman’s loan deal in Leith has been ended as Bournemouth recalled him to cover for an injury crisis.

The American hoped to finish the season with Hibs but Cherries boss Eddie Howe is short in midfield and wants Hyndman, who also had a loan spell at Rangers, to return south.

Socceroos boss Graham Arnold said: “We sent Martin for a scan yesterday and the outcome is that he will be out of action for an indefinite period.

“Martin was desperate to stay with us but we’ve decided the best thing for his long-term career for both his club and country is to return to Scotland where he can receive great care at Hibs.”

The Socceroos angered Lennon when they refused to let Boyle, Mark Milligan and Jamie Maclaren delay their flight to the Middle East to play in Saturday’s Edinburgh derby.

Hibs lost the battle with bitter rivals Hearts 1-0.

Boyle himself hit back at former Celtic hero and Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton after he slammed Australia for insisting their Scots-based players missed their derby showdowns, with Tom Rogic also sitting out Celtic’s defeat to Rangers.

Sutton labelled the competition as “Mickey Mouse football” and advised Aussies to “stick to your prawns and BBQs.”

But Boyle blasted back: “I don’t think he knows much about it. It’s a bit disappointing. He can be a bit of a loudmouth but he’s always been that kind of character.

“He’s paid to do a job and he’s on the show to be quite controversial.”
