BIG FAT QUIZ OF EVERYTHING Channel 4, 9pm WE’VE already had the Big Fat Quiz of the Year, celebrating the best (but mainly the worst) of 2018.
And we’re not yet at the end of the decade, so they can’t do the Big Fat Quiz of the Two Thousand and Tens or Teens, or whatever this decade is called. So instead, we’re having a Big Fat Quiz of Everything.
Yep, literally all of the last 100,000 years of human history is up for inclusion. Jimmy Carr is once again the genial quiz master, on hand with his weird sea-lion laugh and withering put-downs, trying to keep control of the epic recording as the guests (and audience) get increasingly tired, unruly and possibly drunk.
The teams taking part include actress Katherine Parkinson (in a strange black wig) and the irrepressible (and incompetent) Big Narstie, plus comedian pals and Three Lions singers Frank Skinner and David Baddiel. Meaning there’ll definitely be an It’s Coming Home-related question at some point.
The final duo are Bake Off presenter Sandi Toksvig and comedian Joe Lycett. She might be tiny of body but she’s big of brain, so our money’s on the QI host and her funny friend.
The quiz rounds do indeed cover a myriad of subjects, with questions on everything from James Bond to Digger the Crab.
And as ever in the big fat quizzes, there will be guest question setters, such as Channel 4 newsreader Jon Snow, who delivers the music round, showing off his incredible dancing, and actor Charles Dance reading some rousing literature. Jimmy’s back as host of the quiz to end all quizzes
