-

SCOTLAND front-row man Murray McCallum has agreed a new two-year deal at Edinburgh.

The prop, who has made 46 appearances for the Gunners, believes the team are going places under Richard Cockerill and had no hesitation in signing up.

McCallum, 22, said: “We have a great group of boys and there’s a brilliant buzz around the club. We are going in a positive direction both on and off the pitch.”

Coach Cockerill said: “Murray has a big future in the game and we are delighted he has chosen to be a part of what we are building.”

The Gunners go into Pro14 battle with the Southern Kings at Murrayfield tomorrow.

And giant prop Pierre Schoeman reckons a combination of Edinburgh’s red-hot form and the wintry conditions will freeze out his Springbok pals.

He said: “I have a lot of chums who play for the Kings. And I don’t think they will enjoy the Scottish temperatures at this time of year!

“Port Elizabeth doesn’t get that cold – even in the worst winters.”

Schoeman knows the Kings will be no pushovers but insists his side are fill of confidence after crushing Glasgow.

He added: “Beating the Warriors home and away was fantastic but things will not get any easier.

“When you start to earn success teams are going to come for you all the harder.

“We cannot allow ourselves to go up and down – we have to keep up the consistency.”
