PEAKY BLINDER
Passing photographer captures stunning pics of magic moment.. ( ..and she said yes!)
A ROMANTIC Scot convinced his girlfriend to walk up a muchloved peak – before asking her to walk down the aisle. And the whole thing was captured on camera by a passing photographer on remote Ben A’an. Grant Ritchie quickly knew Dani Marie Carré was the one after meeting at church two years ago. He made the decision to propose on the Trossachs hilltop on Christmas Eve. Dani, 24, agreed to the early morning hike with no idea about what Grant had planned at the summit. By luck, a photographer captured the moment Grant went down on one knee – and the picture has gone viral online around the world.
Grant, from Bishopbriggs near Glasgow, told the Record: “Planning a proposal three days before popping the question was quite stressful.
“I had to pick a ring, get it sized and ask Dani’s dad for permission.
“I think Ben A’an is one of my favourite hikes in this part of the country. In one hour you’re at the top with amazing views of Loch Katrine and Loch Achray.
“Luckily, Dani said yes and the weather was unbelievable.”
Dani, from Westbourne, said: “Grant was so calm the entire time. We have gone on walks early in the morning before to get good pictures so it wasn’t strange for him to ask me to go a hike on Christmas Eve. It was amazing.”
The couple’s proposal became an online hit after snapper Rob Jamieson, 54, captured their magic moment.
Rob said: “I got up early to walk in the peace and quiet before anyone else was there.
“I was just sitting relaxing, eating a chocolate bar, when I heard footsteps behind me and saw this young couple coming.
“I got my camera out thinking it was going to be a lovely picture but then the romantic devil got down on one knee.”
