Linda Shaw lay in wait by the house night porter Barrington Sinclair shared with his “other woman” and their two children.

She followed him in her Fiat Punto as he cycled to work and drove at him when he stopped.

As he lay in the road with a fractured leg, the mum of one screamed: “Look what you’ve made me do”, before fleeing, Minshull Crown Court in Manchester heard.

Barrington, 32, of Droylsden, Greater Manchester, needed INJURED Barrington Sinclair several operations after the December 2017 attack and was left with a limp.

Shaw, 31, admitted grievous bodily harm. She sobbed as Judge Bernard Lever suspended a 12-month term for two years.

He told her: “I was going to send you immediately to prison but, by a whisker, I am able to suspend this because of wholly exceptional circumstances.

“He knew how sensitive and vulnerable you were – yet you were treated very badly. You [drove] to see if he emerged from this woman’s house. You were very distressed and there was a conversation. Recklessly, you drove over his leg.”

Shaw met Barrington online and told him she had been abused as a child. Described in court as “wholly dishonest”, he later admitted a rape conviction but kept quiet about his lover.

In 2010, he got seven years for raping a woman in an alley.
