Serial biter Luis Suarez had a taste for flesh when he was at Liverpool and it didn’t stop Barcelona taking a nibble.

The man who got Rangers out the Championship is convinced Morelos can crack it in England’s top flight though.

Warburton said: “If you look at the Premier League, they’re going to use every tool in their armoury to upset a player and win in the right way.

“At the moment there is obviously a red mist scenario.

“I’m not talking about Steven’s player. I don’t know him, I have never worked with him. But he’s a very talented boy that undoubtedly could play in the Premier League.

“Look at Suarez. He is playing at Barcelona. He is what he is, one of the world’s greatest centre forwards.

“Alfredo is 22, a kid. And he’s hitting the headlines for the right reasons and the wrong reasons.

“But most importantly for me, Rangers have a very talented player who I hope will learn from Jermain and of course from Steven.

“He will be a real asset if they can hang on to him.

“If I’m a Premier League club, would I take the gamble? How many good strikers are there? Everyone wants a good striker. That’s the problem.”

Warburton would rather Morelos remains where he is right now though. There might have been an unsavoury separation from Rangers two years ago but the former gaffer still wants the best for the club.

That means Morelos leading the title fight. Warburton said: “Every player is for sale. So If Alfredo leaves Rangers, he leaves on their terms.

“They have a goalscoring asset right now. So maximise him while he is here then maximise the asset when he is sold.”

Warburton was speaking at a William Hill media conference. William Hill is proud sponsor of the Scottish Cup. FROM BACK PAGE Blues management team. It’s understood the Aberdeen boss had attempted to enter the away dressing room as he made it known he was unhappy at the level of noise coming from the visitors area.

McInnes was surprised at how much Steven Gerrard’s stars were whooping it up and blasting music after emerging victorious with a 4-2 win in a pulsating Pittodrie clash.

He urged the Light Blues to tone it down but Rangers management insisted they were entitled to lap up the victory that moved them five points clear of the Reds and kept them on the coat-tails of leaders Celtic.

Record Sport can reveal the visitors had been greeted at Pittodrie by pictures of Aberdeen’s 1-0 League Cup win over the Ibrox side in October. Dons chiefs replaced pictures of some of their glory days from previous years on the walls of the corridor leading to the visitors’ dressing room.

And Rangers players noted the images of the last-four cup victory as they entered the stadium.

Emotions were running high after six goals and two red cards as Rangers emerged winners on a night of high drama between the bitter rivals in the north east.
