Girl sprayed in face with ‘antifreeze’
A 12-YEAR-OLD girl has been sprayed in the face with a substance police say may have been antifreeze.
The incident happened outside an Asda supermarket in Tranent, East Lothian, between 3.45pm and 4pm on Friday.
She was sprayed with the substance by one of a group of four boys – described as about 16 and wearing hoodies – while walking with a friend.
While she was unhurt, her clothes were discoloured.
Police, who are appealing for witnesses to the incident, said: “This is believed to have been opportunistic and potentially thought of as a prank by those involved.
“However, this behaviour is absolutely unacceptable and this incident is being treated as an assault.”
