The Welsh actor was in London to attend the EE Baftas on Sunday night, where he was nominated in the Best Actor category for his role as Dick Cheney in Vice. Now his mum Jenny has revealed the pair are back in touch after relations thawed. She said: “Yes, we are talking. I know Christian is in London.” Just before the premiere of The Dark Knight in 2008, Bale’s sister accused him of shoving Jenny at London’s Dorchester Hotel in a row apparently over his wife Sibi. He was arrested, but released without charge and his family withdrew their statements but Bale has not spoken to them since. I hope he reads this and gets in touch. I hope we can get back to how we used to be.” Until then, watching her son’s hit films – from Empire of the Sun and American Psycho to the Batman series – was the only way she could ease her heartache. “I have them all,” she said at the time. “Every one he’s made. Then sometimes Christian will come up on TV in one of his films. I’ll be flicking through the channels and suddenly there he is, looking at me from the TV.
