Traffic cost UK economy £8billion

ROAD congestion cost the UK economy nearly £8billion last year, analysis says.

Transport data firm Inrix calculated that the average road user in Edinburgh lost £1219 due to traffic jams, second only to London at £1680.

London and Edinburgh are the country’s slowest cities with an average speed for journeys into the central business district of just 7mph during peak time.
