Nurse fired for goading patient to attack inmate

A source said: “Bradford was fired at the end of last week for gross misconduct. He had gone on sick leave and was still being paid while he was off. The fact the probe took so long is a joke.”
We told how it was alleged they encouraged a patient, 30, who has a conviction for assault, to punch a patient with profound autism.
A hospital source said: “Paul and Michael were assaulted by a patient on March 6 but not seriously. The patient has profound autism. The next day, it’s alleged they encouraged a patient to punch him.”
A spokeswoman for Carstairs said: “We do not comment on the circumstances of our employees.”
The move comes after staff last year told the Record of dangers they face from violent patients. We reported 20 extra staff were being recruited following our revelations.
