Zoey eyeing solo acclaim

ATHETICS ZOEY CLARK insists she is hungry for solo glory at next month’s European Indoor Championships after surging to the British 400 metres title in Birmingham last weekend.

The Aberdonian, 24, will line up at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena in two weeks among the favourites with the pedigree of coming sixth at last spring’s World Championships.

But with three major medals from the 4x400 relay stashed away, Clark is chasing a reward all for herself at the Euros.

She said: “Having qualification out of the way means I can really focus and prepare. If it hadn’t been in Glasgow I wouldn’t have done indoors at all this year but I did not want to miss that opportunity.”
