Cammy: Karaoke party proof we’ll get back on song

- BY GRAEME MacPHERSON

ST MIRREN ace Cammy MacPherson hopes the team that sings together can start to win together.

The Buddies brought in 10 new players in January and all had to perform karaoke in front of their team-mates the night before Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

The Paisley side may be bottom of the Premiership but MacPherson believes the singing session shows team spirit is still good among the group.

He said: “All the new lads have to do a song as part of their initiation ceremony on the first away trip after they sign or debut.

“So this time it was Friday night in the team hotel before the Aberdeen game – and if you don’t sing it’s a £50 fine.

“Some of them were pretty good. Big Vaclav Hladky was the best.

“He sang We Will Rock You by Queen and got everyone joining in. Some weren’t so good, mind you. A few were terrible. I don’t even know what Laurentiu Corbu sang – something in Romanian!

“I did mine last Christmas and sang Let Me Love You by Mario and it was pretty decent I reckon.

“Everyone was up for it and it shows the atmosphere is still good about the place. The new boys have settled in quickly and we all get on with each other. There’s a good bond.

“We got a good result at Pittodrie and hopefully the more we get to know each other we can start picking up the wins we need to stay in the league.”
