Beast attacked teen in camper van
BY JAMES MULHOLLAND A FORMER aide to two prime ministers has been jailed after being convicted of rape for the second time in a month.
Mark Adams, 56, was yesterday found guilty of the sickening assault on a 19- year- old student in Regent Road, Edinburgh, in the early hours of August 10, 2017.
The High Court in the city heard how Adams attacked the teenager on the floor of his camper van.
His victim told a jury how the former civil servant preyed on her as she returned home from a night out at the Fringe.
She had fallen asleep but woke to find the divorced father of four having sex with her. Adams, of Fareham, Hampshire, claimed the sex was consensual but jurors found him guilty.
In January, the pervert – who served as private secretary to John Major and Tony Blair in the 90s – was found guilty of raping a 24-year-old in his London home the morning after the 2015 general election.
He was jailed for seven years and put on the sex offenders’ register.
In October, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a barmaid in Tenby, Wales, and given a suspended prison term.
Ye s t e r d a y, Lo r d Armstrong deferred sentence on Adams – who went into business after leaving the civil service – and remanded him in custody. The judge told him: “You must know by now that rape is a grave crime against which all women should be protected.”
