Crash course in good husbandry

-

HOPELESS husbands-to-be have the chance to hone their domestic skills and keep their brides happy far beyond the wedding day.

Rosslea Hall Hotel is offering the tongue-in-cheek package, which includes showing fellas how they can treat their other halves to breakfast in bed and how to use a washing machine.

Groom Academy students will be taught essential housekeeping chores, as well as the art of cocktail-making during the day-long course.

Lynn Graham, deputy general manager of the wedding venue in Helensburgh, said: “We are calling all lovely brides-to-be to whip their men into shape and cut their mothers’ apron strings before they say ‘I do’.

“We will show your man how to iron, BY JENNY FOULDS use a washing machine and tumble dryer and any other domestic chores he may lack experience in.

“There’s a special treat in store for the brides-to-be as they will get lessons in cocktail-making and breakfast in bed.

“They will learn how to make our cocktail, the Blushing Bride, which is champagne and chambord with a strawberry on top.

“We’re only too happy to help out ladies and there will be no domestic excuses after this. We ran it three years ago and it was really popular then so we decided to bring it back.

“It went down very well with the wives, as some of the grooms genuinely didn’t know how to work a washing machine or an iron.”
