Buddies dressing room is like Big Brother house

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

ORAN KEARNEY admits the St Mirren camp has felt like the Big Brother house with so many new arrivals.

But he’s convinced there’s enough quality in his squad to avoid eviction from the Premiership.

The Northern Irish boss performed a massive overhaul in January but believes the raft of recruits are beginning to show signs of coming together on the back of moraleboosting draws at Aberdeen and Hearts.

Kearney is looking to kick on against Livingston tomorrow and said: “It was about having that patience because if you take any working environment and get rid of 12 people and add 12 new ones then it’s like the Big Brother house.

“In psychology they say the group forms then it storms, then it norms and then performs.

“We’d had to go through the stages very quickly.

“Players get to understand their roles and responsibilities which we’ve hit these last few weeks and then you start to perform when you get to that level.

“We had to go through the process quickly on and off the field with players from different cultures.

“I’ve started to see the performance levels jump because they are through that.

“It’s down to displays on the pitch and the last two 90 minutes have done more than any golf or day on the drink.

“Guys patting each other on the back builds that.”
