TICKET ANGER

-

after half-time due to thick fog and vouchers were handed out to supporters at the game for free entry to the new fixture.

But Kilmarnock then decided they would charge all fans £5, with under-16s getting in for £3.

This angered Motherwell fans who felt they should get into the game for free and the club have stepped up to ensure they aren’t further out of pocket.

The Steelmen will pay for supporters who received a voucher or put their name on a list at Rugby Park on Wednesday night to attend the game.

Fir Park chief executive Alan Burrows said: “We thank all fans for their patience today while we made arrangements.

“While we disagree with Kilmarnock’s decision to not allow fans who travelled free entry to the re-arranged game, we respect that it is wholly their call to make under league rules.

“Our club does not have a say in setting ticket prices for league matches hosted by other clubs.

“We want to do something to thank and reward the supporters who travelled, only to see the game abandoned.”

Tomorrow’s re-arranged fixture, meanwhile, has thrown Killie’s plans for a training camp in Tenerife up in the air.

The match takes place at 48 hours notice as both clubs had a free weekend as they are no longer involved in the Scottish Cup.

Killie assistant manager Alex Dyer appeared to rule out playing the game tomorrow because both clubs had made plans. But it is understood the SPFL insisted the game go ahead.

A Kilmarnock statement read: “This decision has been made by the SPFL and the club apologises to supporters for the short notice over this fixture.”

Steve Clarke’s squad were due to fly out tomorrow and it is understood the club are not happy about the rearranged date.
